Our Wedding Ring Making Experience
Wedding rings can often be the last thing on the to do list when planning your big day ... BUT they will become an important part of your life together, so let's make them really special right from the start!
Whether it be wedding or commitment rings, or simply a token to celebrate a special time or event, people looking for an alternative and more meaningful experience are choosing to get creative with their partner and make the rings themselves, here at our Bristol studio!
Couples can choose to make their own rings or each others, to make it even more special. With over 14 years experience as a Goldsmith, founder and tutor Sophie is there to guide you through the process from start to finish. The rings are crafted by hand from recycled precious metals and completed within a day.
IT ALL BEGINS WITH AN IDEA …
We offer a free, no obligation consultation prior to booking your experience. We’d love to have you over for a cup of tea! You will be able to see samples of wedding bands for inspiration and we can chat through design options (you have the opportunity to think outside the box here ... The design can be as simple or adventurous as you like!)
During our private class you will be gently guided through the whole process of making your wedding rings.
In the morning you will each make a practice ring in silver, which will enable you to get a feel for the tools and processes you will be using to make your actual rings. When you are ready we will move on to making the final wedding bands together in gold, palladium, or platinum. For an additional cost we can also recycle existing gold jewellery and cast it into new rings, making them even more special. Get in touch to find out more!
We offer 2 wedding ring making options. Our standard experience is £500 per couple. This includes the full day of tuition (6 hours) for 2 people, where you will make plain wedding bands in your chosen metal and profile, with either a polished or brushed finish.
Our enhanced experience is £600 per couple (8 hours) and is suited to those who have something a bit more unusual and challenging in mind. This could be a wishbone style band or other fitted shape (designed by Sophie to complement the contours of your engagement ring whilst still being achievable in the session), adding texture to the wedding bands, or preparing an intricate design to be engraved onto your rings by a master engraver, for example.
Both options include hallmarking of the rings, lunch from our local artisan bakery, Bristol Loaf, plus refreshments throughout the day. Materials are charged in addition to the course fee, invoiced separately once you have settled on a style and we know your finger sizes.
We recommend booking your experience at least 2 months prior to your wedding date to keep things as stress free as possible, however, depending on your design, it may be possible to accommodate a booking up to two weeks before your wedding ... please contact Sophie directly for more information and availability.
